Grosgrain Ribbon Rosette

I hope you are enjoying my headband Extravaganza week as much as I am! It's been allot of fun! This one is another simple yet funky flower.

You will need grosgrain ribbon for this one. Take a flame to the end of the ribbon to seal those ends from fraying.
Then twist the ribbon just up from the edge.
Hot glue it in place and then twist again. You could also hand sew this.
Then twist again and hot glue.
And twist again. As you twist you will notice that you will start coming back around again to where you started in a circle.
Once you get to the point that you are at the start you want to tuck underneath the starting edge so as you continue to twist the ribbon you end up underneath the starting circle, which will create the center of the flower. Just keep hot gluing in place.
Here you will see that I have gone around the complete circle and soon it will start behind.
Just keep twisting the ribbon and gluing.
Now you will see I have formed the second circle underneath the top one by going behind and continuing to twist.
Just keep twisting and gluing.
Around and Around...
And around and around.
Now I've started a third circle around.
Just simply keep placing hot glue in between the layers to secure them in place.
Keep twisting the ribbon and gluing.
Once you get your flower to the size you want cut off the ribbon and tuck the edge under and glue in place.
The back will be a crazy mess like this.
Cut out a felt circle that will fit on the back of the rosette. Then hot glue a piece of the soft side of the velcro strip to it.
And hot glue it to the back of the flower.
And there you have it. A Grosgrain Ribbon Rosette.
The texture of the ribbon and the twisting gives it a funky look.
Attach it to your headband
And your good to go!
Please link up in the comments below if you give it a try! I would LOVE to see your creation or version!!!
