I LOVE Headbands. It makes it look like your hair isn't so NOT done! But I find it incredibly annoying to have 500 and one hairbands. So I have made a way to only have a few...okay like thirty...and then I can change out my flowers and bows and other goodies from them.
So to start you will need felt, hot glue, a headband, and Velcro. Cut two rectangles of felt and a piece of the hard side of the Velcro that is just long enough to fit on the felt. I cut the felt pieces about 1/2 inch wide by 1 inch long.
You can also sew these. Which I have done with mine. However these ones are my sisters and we hot glued them up to save time...and believe it or not...my sister doesn't sew...or craft for that matter. So hot glue your Velcro piece to one of the felt rectangles.
Then place a strip of hot glue on the long edge of the bottom side and hot glue it to the other Velcro rectangle.
Here is the side view.
Then put a strip of hot glue on the other long edge.
And glue it down. This makes a tube that you can slide on to your hairband.
Then you can go ahead and slide it on your hairband. Put the Velcro side facing up.
You can then make a slightly smaller Velcro tube for the clips that are smaller or the ones that require two.
I keep a stash of different size and color headbands, and I also keep a stash of Velcro tubes in small and large. I'll show you how I organize them in a later post this week! And I'll also show you how I make the flowers and bows you attach to the headbands! And... I'll show you how easy it is to make a clip to put them on as well! You won't want to miss anything this week!!! And remember on Saturday you get to come show off your headbands!!!
Very clever!
